The Orville season 3: New Horizons

The Orville is a sci-fi series created and starred by Seth MacFarlane in what he defines as his passion project, and where he pays homage to Star Trek and Star Wars, as a self-proclaimed big fan of both sagas.

Seasons one and two aired on Fox in the United States and on cable in Latin America, and while showing the classic MacFarlane humor, they also took over more serious issues. Season 3, dubbed New Horizons, has indeed reached higher places and moved to Hulu, which turned out to be great: got a bigger budget, and less restrictions, which in turn resulted in a much better series, without losing any of its own DNA.

Some topics covered along these 10 episodes were war and abortion (on "Gently Falling Rain"), gender identity (on "A tale of thwo Topas"), a trip to the past ("Twice in a lifetime"), high treason and genocide ("Domino") and even an horror tale ("Shadow Realms").

Is The Orville season 4 going to happen? No official word yet, but Hulu says "the door is always open" and MacFarlane himself says "if there is an audience..." in reference to the show being streamed also on Disney Plus in some countries, mainly the United States. In his own words, "it could be a game changer."
